5 awesome ways to start the year right...

Hello again and compliments of this great season to you!

As the year finally comes to an end, I thought to digress a bit by sharing some great tips to start the year aright. Of course there are various things to do or ways to start the year, but these tips comes to mind for me and I thought to share...

  • Forgive all hurts and if it’s in your ability to do so, forget it and move on. I often joke that ‘love has no recycle bin’. With a computer you delete an item and it stores away in the recycle bin to be retrieved if needed again. My Holy book teaches that ‘Love does not take ‘account’ of the evil done to it, it does not pay attention to a suffered wrong’ - Declutter your life from hurts and pains and move on. Avoid keeping unnecessary ‘accounts’ or a 'recycle bin'. If you also made some mistakes during the year, don’t beat yourself too hard. Forgive yourself and turn to the next page of that book...The story is only getting juicier...😉

  • ‘Declutter’ in the actual sense of the word 🤣- Clean out your home and rid it of old clothes and junk. Give out or donate things you haven’t used in a while - shoes, clothes, accessories to those who could utilise it this season.

  • Review your past goals (if you had one) and write new ones for the year. My new year often starts late October or early November. I often review my goals once we enter into the so called ‘ember’ months and tick off the ones I’ve been able to achieve, see if I could further accomplish some more before the end of the year and then carry over into the new year. Although I review my goals during the course of the year from time to time, this time around, I usually do a major review. I have always believed in writing goals and believe in the power of the pen and paper. Do my goals always come to pass or are they always achieved? NO...but you know what, as long as it has been written down, it comes to pass with time....Every vision (goal/dream) is for an appointed time so still write it and don’t give up on the dream. Make sure they are S.M.A.R.T  - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-bound.

  • Pay off all debts (if you have any). As much as lies within your ability, do not carry over any debts into the new year. This is actually the season a lot of people need cash to do things for themselves. Start the new year on a new page.

  • Set out time to pray and seek God’s face for the new race...(see rhyme🤣). The one who knows the end from the beginning should be consulted at the beginning of the year or before you even start. He would give you some ideas and pictures for the new year. Remember prayer is a dialogue so you need to spend some time in ‘silence’ to listen to what He has to say. I think a decision to have more time to be ‘quiet’ in the new year should be a major goal for the year. When I’m quiet, I find that I can actually plan for a whole week and take down notes which makes me very organised and highly productive throughout the year.

And these are my 5 great ways to start the year. Till I come your way again to continue on the ‘5 great reasons to study in the USA’, do have an ‘funtastic’ new year ahead!

Xxx
